Welcome!
We'd love for you to join AMAC - our greatest strength lies in our numbers and having members supporting our work. Become a member (dues due annually) so you can know about all the great things AMAC is doing.
We need people to support our work - this varies based on the initiative. Sometimes it's best to come to a meeting, maybe email the School Board, or sign a petition. If you are passionate about a topic, we love more people doing the work. We'll let you know. Check out some of our current initiatives below.

Registration for our annual Lake Fairfax camping trip is now open! Happening June 14 - 16th. Reserve your spot today!
Full Circle Montessori offers a variety of parent classes. They also have an indoor play space for children under 3.5 called the Full Circle Nest which is an intentionally designed space to promote independence, confidence, fine and gross motor development, and creativity.

corn maze / star gaze
Join us at Great Country Farms for some fun! We'll have access to the farm's play area and corn maze. Fun includes slides, jumping pillow, rope swing, ninja course, barn animals and more! Once it gets dark, we will assemble at a far end of the farm for star gazing with an astronomer to help us view the night sky through telescopes.
Note: this is a private event (other groups will be there) and tickets must be purchased in advance.
Date: Saturday, October 7, 2023 (rain date: November 11)
Time: 6 - 9pm
Cost: $15 per person (under 3 are free)
Location: Great Country Farms - 34345 Snickerville Turnpike Bluemont, VA
Food: Families are welcome to bring food. Farm concenssions will be closed. There is a restaurant on the farm, Henway Hard Cider, which will be open until 7pm if you'd like to purchase food from there.
Bring: Flashlights - it will get dark quickly! Layers as it may be chilly. Bug spray and closed-toe shoes are recommended.
Join fellow Montessori families for a beach camping trip at Assateague Island National Park. AMAC has booked a group campsite for 6 nights from July 31 to August 6.
Book your trip for the annual AMAC camping trip to Lake Fairfax on Friday, June 9 - Sunday, June 11.
If you can't camp, we'd still love for you to join us for the Saturday night potluck - please register!
Full Circle Montessori Yard Sale
AMAC will once again host the annual Crossing Over ceremony celebrating graduating seniors who also participated in the APS Montessori program.
Join the greater Montessori community for the 10th annual 5K and 1 mile Fun Run on Sunday, May 7th at 9am at Bluemont Park. This fundraiser helps children from lower socioeconomic backgrounds attend Montessori schools.
Gunston middle school info night
Gunston Middle School houses the Montessori Program within the larger neighborhood middle school. Hear Gunston Montessori teachers and alumni speak about the transition to middle school, core classes, electives, and extracurriculars.
